World AIDS Day celebrated on December 1st, 2010, is an annual reminder of the two-decade long fight with one of the biggest challenges to healthcare, HIV-AIDS. Indian Society for Applied Research & Development celebrated World AIDS day successfully all over their programme area Bindapur West Delhi, East Delhi, Panchkula, Haryana, Mohali Punjab etc with street plays, rallies and public meetings to increase awareness and fight prejudice about HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Ajeet Prasad in his speech to the HRGs and other community members mentioned that it is so important not to have just knowledge on the subject of HIV/AIDS, but to have change in our life style. He also mentioned how one should have a holistic approach to facing these challenges .He further mentioned that with awareness and a change of life style the latest analysis shows that there is dropping new cases of PLHA.
More than 5,000 condoms and 10,000 educational and informational materials (brochures, posters, and pamphlets/ leaflets) were distributed through the programme area.
